North North West!

Great day of buggying followed by a short downwinder from Fort Stevens lot a. My neighbor met up with me at sunset and hopped in the buggy for the first time. He immediately was going up wind and had a blast! After the crew deserted the beach, we headed up to the shipwreck toe drop a car and headed to lot a for a short downwinder. Kelly joined us for his first time in the ocean. I was on the 12 flexi/150 mako, nigel was on a 9OR/138 and kelly was on the turbo 9/spleen door. Thermal wind on the beach at about 20, but it was about 15 on the water. Marginal for me on the 150. I ended up trying out the door and was able to at least hold ground even with the light north wind. Kelly did great for his first time, it always daunting to see waves over your head, and the current was a lot stronger than I had expected. An all-round funtastic day!

North wind

In the morning Ken, Arin, Kelly, Bill, and Dieter came to check out manzo! Of course there was wind.. but not much. Sunny! It came up to 10mph for a short while but died off. There was a wind line 50yards out on the water and the whitecaps were calling to us... but no dice... no jet ski :) We headed back up to sunset and there was N 10-15 for the rest of the afternoon in a light fog. Bizarre for sunset to be windier than manzo... oh well, this is a bizzaro week with east, south, west, and north winds. I had the 15m phantom out the entire day, it wanted more wind, but I'm not going to complain.

No wind...

No wind pretty much all day. The vapor 16 and GT 14 got some action, but not much. A lot of sitting around and basking in the sun. Late afternoon the fog rolled in _very_ thick. Some buggyie went out, but luckily nobody was hurt.

Sunday... No Wind

Wind was 2-4 all day long. It came up a few times but not enough for much. The valley was too hot for good wind. some thermal wind came in, but the fog was _thick_. I'm surprised anyone went out, but luckily nobody was hurt, though there were plenty of close calls.

Sunset entrance is still junk, but the drive to del ray is worse at 1/2 tide.

East Winds

Gusty east winds today... it wasn't that bad but a lot of people here hesitant. I ended up taking out the 6m rage for 15miles (top speed 28mph) and then took the kids for a tandem buggy ride with the 3.5m. In all a good day on the beach.

Spaghetti dinner at the camp. yum.

Oysterys... in the dark
